Dr. Fadima Yaya Bocoum

WANEL Country Coordinator for Burkina Faso

Dr. Yaya Fadima holds a PhD in Public Health from the University of the Western Cape, a master’s degree in Health Economics (CESAG) and in Health Sociology (University of Ouagadougou). Her scientific activities focus mainly on socio-cultural and economic determinants of health. In the course of her research career, she participated in several multinational studies (Burkina Faso, The   Gambia, Niger, Mali, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Ghana, etc.) and collaborated with various researchers in Africa and beyond. She is a member of various national and international professional organizations such as the Burkinabe Society of Public Health (SOBUSAP), the Burkinabe College of Health Economics (COBES), and the International Health Economics Association (iHEA). She is also a proofreader for several international journals and a member of the editorial board of La revue Science et technique série santé  (https://www.ajol.info/index.php/stss). She has over thirty publications in national and international journals. Fadima is a CAMES research fellow and associate research scientist at African Population for Health Research Centre.
