Dr. Juliana Gnamon

WANEL Chair

Dr. Juliana F. Gnamon is an Economist from Côte d’Ivoire and one of the founding members of the West African Network of Emerging Leaders in Health Policy and Systems Research (WANEL). After serving in the Executive Committee as Chair of the TWG on Supporting Health Systems Strengthening Initiatives and in various committees in the network, she had the honour to be elected as the Chair of the WANEL Executive Board.

She believes in intentional succession planning and formulates the vision of this term “to nurture strong leadership in the next generation that will receive the baton to move WANEL and the region to another levels”.

She is a multilingual thought leader with more than 12 years of experience in international development. She has a unique professional course, having worked in various sectors of activity such as academia, market research, the pharmaceutical industry, technical advisory for development and international organizations and in multiple countries.

In a recent capacity of international consultant, she advised governments on health policy and financing for UHC, bridging the gap between policy making and research, for the betterment of populations’ lives. She is currently a Post-Doctoral fellow at College of Community and Global Health, University of Manitoba.

She holds a PhD in Economics with specialization in Health Economics and Public Sector Economics earned under the Collaborative PhD Program (CPP) of the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC).
