Co-chair of WANEL Thematic Working Group (TWG) on Teaching and Learning Health Policy and Systems Research

The Teaching and Learning Health Policy and Systems Research TWG provides peer to peer skill building opportunities for the WANEL community. The TWG also facilitate co-production and cross sharing of research and publication among members.

Dr. Roger A. Atinga is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Public Administration and Health Service Management, University of Ghana Business School. He has a wealth of teaching and research experience   spanning over half a decade. His research is at the intersection of health policy and management, health supply chain, health economics, implementation science and healthcare quality, drawing data from health providers, users, communities and secondary sources. He is a seasoned visiting Lecturer with the University for Development Studies, Ghana and Adjunct Faculty in Global Health Policy with the New York University. He has great experience in the design and implementation of qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method research designs, and the use of empirical data to support evidence-informed policy making.

Dr. Atinga has led researches, funded research projects and consultations, and projects Monitoring and Evaluation for Chemonics International Inc., Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM), Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition, Ghana Integrity Initiative (a branch of transparency International), Ghana’s National Health Insurance Authority, Ghana Coalition of Health NGOs and other civil society organizations. He is currently an Editorial Advisory Board Member for International Journal of Quality and Reliability Management and African Journal of Management Research; and Academic Guest Editor of PlosOne.
